How We Use Information
We use information solely to provide App features. All processing is local and on-device. Here is a complete list of how data is used:
- Scanning QR codes and barcodes and displaying results
- Saving scan history locally on your device
- Generating QR codes and barcodes from your input
- Creating contact or business card QR codes
- Creating encrypted (password-protected) QR notes
- Connecting to or opening Wi-Fi settings for scanned Wi-Fi codes
- Exporting scan history or inventory files when you choose to
- Sharing QR images or scan results when you choose to
- Remembering your app settings and language preference
We do not use any data for profiling, advertising, analytics, personalization, or any purpose beyond the specific on-device functions described above.
Local Storage
Scanner Studio stores data exclusively on your device using Android's local storage mechanisms (SharedPreferences and a private local database). No data is synced to cloud servers operated by us.
| Data | Storage Location | Accessible by Other Apps? | Cleared When? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scan History | Private local database | No — sandboxed | When you clear history or uninstall |
| Batch / Inventory Sessions | Private local database | No — sandboxed | When you delete sessions or uninstall |
| Favorites | Private local database | No — sandboxed | When you remove them or uninstall |
| Card / Contact Info | Private local database | No — sandboxed | When you delete cards or uninstall |
| App Preferences | SharedPreferences (private) | No — sandboxed | When you clear app data or uninstall |
You can delete scan history from within the App. You can also remove all locally stored App data by clearing the App's data in Android system settings (Settings › Apps › Scanner Studio › Storage › Clear Data) or by uninstalling the App.
Data Sharing
Scanner Studio does not sell your personal information. The App does not share your scan history or generated QR content with us or any third party automatically.
Data may be transmitted only when you choose to perform an explicit action, such as:
- Opening a scanned URL in a browser
- Sending an email, SMS, making a phone call, or opening maps, payment, calendar, or contact intents
- Sharing a QR image or scan result through another app
- Exporting history or inventory data as a file
- Copying content to the clipboard
- Opening Wi-Fi settings or starting a Wi-Fi connection flow
When you use another app or service through Android intents (e.g., browser, messaging, maps), that third-party app's own privacy policy governs how your data is handled.
Internet Access
The App includes the INTERNET permission to support features such as opening scanned web links, in-app browser or custom tab behavior, and possible file or export helper functions.
The App does not automatically upload scan history, QR content, or personal data to any server operated by us.
If a future version adds cloud sync, analytics, ads, crash reporting, or account features, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety information will be updated before release, and you will be notified.
Permissions Used
Google Play policy requires full disclosure of every permission and its exact purpose. Below is the complete and accurate list for Scanner Studio:
Clipboard
If you use copy features or enable auto-copy, scanned or generated content may be copied to your device clipboard. Other apps may be able to read clipboard content depending on your Android version and system behavior.
Avoid copying sensitive information such as passwords or financial data to the clipboard unless you fully understand that other apps on your device may be able to access clipboard contents.
Sensitive QR Codes
QR codes may contain sensitive information, including Wi-Fi passwords, contact details, payment links, location coordinates, or private notes. You are responsible for choosing what to scan, save, share, or export.
Secure Note QR features encrypt content using the password you provide. We do not know or store your password. If you lose the password, the encrypted content may not be recoverable.
Children's Privacy
Scanner Studio is not directed at children and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at tech.bytxen01@gmail.com and we will promptly address the concern.
Security
We use reasonable local-device practices to protect data stored by the App. The App runs within Android's sandboxed execution environment, which isolates its data from all other apps.
However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You should avoid storing or sharing highly sensitive information unless necessary.
Secure Note QR codes use a password you provide for encryption. We do not store your password anywhere. Lost passwords cannot be recovered by us. Keep your password in a safe place.
Data Retention & Deletion
Locally stored scan history, inventory data, generated content, preferences, and card details remain on your device until you delete them, clear App data, or uninstall the App. We do not retain any copies of your data on any server.
11.1 How to Delete Your Data
- Delete scan history: Open the App › History › Clear All
- Delete all app data: Android Settings › Apps › Scanner Studio › Storage › Clear Data
- Remove everything: Uninstall the App — all associated local data is permanently removed
Since no data is transmitted to or stored on our servers, there is no remote retention period to disclose. All data control is entirely yours.
Third-Party Services
The App may rely on Android system services and installed third-party apps to complete actions you initiate, such as:
- Opening links in a browser
- Sending SMS, emails, or making phone calls
- Adding contacts or calendar events
- Opening maps or payment apps
- Sharing files or browsing web pages
Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. Scanner Studio does not include analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs that transmit data to third parties.
The App may integrate Google Play's core library for standard in-app update checks or in-app review prompts. These interactions are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and are triggered only by your explicit action.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Android OS requirements, new App features, legal obligations, or evolving best practices.
- The Effective Date at the top of this document will be updated when changes are made
- Updates will be posted at the privacy policy URL used in the Google Play Store listing
- For any material change that affects data collection or user rights, an in-app notice will be displayed on next launch before the change takes effect
We will never introduce data collection, analytics, or advertising without first updating this policy, displaying a prominent in-app notice, and obtaining your explicit consent.
Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us. We aim to respond within 48–72 hours, and within 30 days for formal data rights requests under GDPR/CCPA.
